What we build for
Shopify merchants

Six things, done properly, rather than a list of everything imaginable. If your project is not on this list, ask anyway — the answer is either yes or an honest referral.

Custom Shopify app development

Private and public Shopify apps built on the current stack — Remix, Polaris, Admin GraphQL, App Bridge, webhooks and theme app extensions. Whether it is an internal tool for one store or a public app you intend to list, you get a codebase you own and can hand to anyone.

  • Embedded admin apps and Shopify Functions
  • Checkout, customer account and POS UI extensions
  • Theme app extensions — no code left in the theme
  • Built to pass App Store review first time

Shopify theme development & customisation

Changes to an existing theme, or a bespoke Online Store 2.0 theme from scratch. Sections, blocks and metaobject-driven content that your team can actually edit afterwards, rather than a page only a developer can touch.

  • Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks
  • Liquid, metafields and metaobjects
  • Product page, cart and checkout branding work
  • Fixing themes that broke after an app or theme update

Shopify SEO, AEO & GEO

Technical SEO for Shopify stores, plus the newer answer-engine work: getting your products and content quoted by AI search. Shopify has specific structural problems — duplicate collection URLs, thin tag pages, product schema that stops at the price — and this is fixing those, not generic advice.

  • Product, collection and FAQ structured data
  • Duplicate URL, faceted-nav and canonical cleanup
  • Content architecture that ranks and answers
  • Answer-engine (AEO/GEO) readiness for AI search results

Speed & Core Web Vitals

Shopify stores get slow the same way every time: eight apps injecting scripts, an unoptimised hero image and a theme loading its whole JS bundle on the homepage. Measured before and after against real Core Web Vitals field data, not a lab score.

  • LCP, INP and CLS diagnosis on real devices
  • App script audit — what each one actually costs you
  • Image, font and third-party script strategy
  • Reporting you can show a stakeholder

Store migration to Shopify

Moving from Etsy, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or a bespoke platform. Products, customers, orders, reviews and — the part most migrations forget — the URL redirects that keep the rankings you already paid for.

  • Product, customer and order data mapping
  • Review and rating migration
  • 301 redirect maps so rankings survive the move
  • Post-launch crawl and index monitoring

App integrations & automation

Connecting Shopify to the systems that run the rest of the business — ERPs, 3PLs, carriers, accounting, CRMs and marketplaces. Usually a small private app plus webhooks, which is far cheaper than the middleware subscription you were quoted.

  • Carrier and fulfilment integrations
  • ERP, CRM and accounting sync
  • Webhook pipelines and scheduled jobs
  • Replacing brittle Zapier chains with real code

We ship apps to
real merchants.

Most agencies pitching Shopify work have never had an app through App Store review, never had a merchant open a support ticket at 11pm, and never had to keep something running after the invoice cleared. We have seven live apps doing exactly that.

That changes the code. Theme app extensions instead of pasted Liquid. Webhooks that handle being delivered twice. Settings a merchant can change without emailing anyone. It is the difference between something that demos well and something that survives your next theme update.

How a project
actually runs

01

A call, not a form

Thirty minutes on what you are trying to change and what it is currently costing you. If an existing app on the App Store already solves it, that gets said on the call — including one of ours, or somebody else's.

02

A scope and a fixed price

A written scope with what is included, what is not, and a fixed price for the work. No day-rate open-endedness, no discovery phase invoiced separately.

03

Build, with the store live

Theme work happens on an unpublished copy; app work runs on a development store. Nothing ships to your live storefront until you have clicked through it yourself.

04

Handover you own

Source code, a written explanation of how it works, and no lock-in. If you never speak to us again, the work keeps running.

Questions we get
before the call

How much does custom Shopify development cost?

Small theme changes typically land in the low hundreds. A private Shopify app is usually a few thousand, depending on how much of the Admin API it touches and whether it needs a hosted backend. Every project is quoted at a fixed price after a scoping call, so you know the number before anything starts.

Do you build public Shopify App Store apps, or only private ones?

Both. Private and custom apps for a single store are the most common request, but we also build apps intended for public listing — and we have taken seven of our own through Shopify App Store review, so the requirements are built into the work rather than discovered at submission.

Can you work on my existing theme rather than rebuilding it?

Yes, and that is usually the right call. Most stores need targeted work on specific templates rather than a rebuild. Work happens on a duplicated, unpublished theme so your live store is never at risk, and it is published only once you have approved it.

Do you offer Shopify SEO as an ongoing retainer?

The standard engagement is a fixed-scope technical SEO project — audit, fixes, structured data, redirects — because that is where the durable gains are on a Shopify store. Ongoing monthly work is available where it genuinely earns its keep, typically for stores publishing content regularly.

What is AEO and GEO, and does my store need it?

Answer Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation are about being cited by AI assistants and AI search results rather than only ranking in a list of blue links. In practice it overlaps heavily with good technical SEO: clean structured data, unambiguous product facts, and content that answers a question directly. If a meaningful share of your customers research purchases through AI tools, it is worth doing.

Where are you based, and does that matter?

UK-based, working with merchants worldwide. Calls are scheduled around your timezone. For UK and EU merchants there is a practical benefit — familiarity with UK carriers, VAT handling and post-Brexit international shipping, which is exactly why our FedEx International Connect UK app exists.
